Molson partnership boosts HITZ

October 28, 2022

Molson Group has been recognised for boosting the Bristol Bears Community Foundation’s HITZ programme – the award-winning education and employability scheme run by Premiership Rugby clubs.

Molson Group has supported HITZ since March 2021 and has engaged in several events and workshops to support young people on the programme.

Now, after spending the last year at Molson Group, working across several different areas of the business, Charlie, Connor, Dawda and Louis are all thriving and happy at work, and have a bright future and exciting career to look forward to.

Bristol Bears Community Development Manager, Craig Capel, said: “To see these young men develop and mature over the last couple of years has been a real privilege. The HITZ programme is very much about supporting young people beyond the classroom and it was clear from our very first meeting that the good people at Molson adopted this same approach to their day-to-day business. We are very grateful to our friends from Molson for continuing this level of care and guidance that has certainly contributed positively to the success of all four former HITZ students”.

Molson Group Managing Director, Robin Powell, said: “As a business with Bristol at its roots, it is important for us to actively engage with the local community. Our team love the HITZ programme. It is developing into a relationship that is way beyond the ESG headlines, driving excitement and collaboration across the organisation.  Watching the apprentices grow and flourish over the last 12 months of working with us has given everyone involved an immense sense of pride and satisfaction. We are pleased to continue our ongoing support of the programme and look forward to providing further opportunities to engage positively within the Molson Group, our suppliers, and customers”.

Molson Group HR Manager, Anna Ormiston, said: ‘I couldn’t be prouder of Dawda, Charlie, Louis and Connor.  Over the last 12 months their commitment, confidence and determination have really shone through, not only thanks to the amazing foundation created through HITZ but also because of their individual desire to get stuck in and make a difference, all whilst sporting a smile!  I’m really looking forward to seeing how their futures unfold; the future looks bright!”
