When the charity ‘From Bristol with Love for Ukraine’ appealed for urgent donations for their recent aid trip to support the people of Odessa in Ukraine, Molson Group’s Community Champions team leapt straight into action.
The team, already well versed in the intricacies of shipping aid to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine, were able to immediately source four pallets of essential items, including medical and food supplies.
As soon as the shipment was received by the “From Bristol with Love for Ukraine” team, volunteers loaded up two large vans, which departed the charity’s distribution site on Sunday 19th June and arrived in Galati, Romania, two days later. The aid was transferred to the Romanian team and then made its way, via Moldova (the fastest route), to its final destination of Odessa.
In recognition of the donation on behalf of the Molson Group, Paul Glanville, Molson Group CSR Lead, was awarded a certificate of thanks from the Right Honorable Lord Mayor of Bristol, Paula O’Rourke.
This donation is the latest in a series of initiatives Molson Group has completed as part of its #ukraineaidappeal activity. Volunteers have collected and collated supplies to fill four articulated lorries, delivering over £38,000 worth of aid to the region. An impressive total of over 414 volunteer hours have already been clocked in for activity relating to the appeal, with no signs of slowing down.
For more information on how you or your business can join us in our continued support of those affected by the conflict, please fill in the contact form here and a member of our Community Champions team will be in touch as soon as possible.
