As part of their fleet regeneration programme The Sirius Group invest over £1.2m in fuel-efficient Kobelco excavators, supplied by Molson Equipment.
Headquartered in Leeds with strategically placed offices across the country, The Sirius Group undertake a wide range of services to the built environment from planning and geo-technical consultancy to delivering remediation, demolition and renewable energy projects, all under the one roof.
As part of the company’s drive to operate the most fuel-efficient equipment available, they have added four SK300LC-10, one SK350LC-10 and a single SK230SRLC-5E excavator to meet with their requirements for fuel economy, reliability, and productivity. The new excavators have all been supplied from UK Kobelco dealer Molson Equipment’s newly opened depot in Darlington, something Sirius’s Plant Director Stuart Kirk is very happy about. “We operate on a nationwide basis but are predominately centred around Yorkshire, the North East and the North West. The fact that Molson have opened a depot in the North East in addition to their established base in Warrington means we essentially have a local dealer should there be any issues over the life of the machines. We think this will be a massive benefit to the Group as we rely on the service and back-up from dealers in our region.”
The order for the excavators comes after Stuart and his team explored a wide range of manufacturers looking for an ideal excavator to complement their fleet.
Stuart commented, “The Kobelco meets our requirements for build quality with well-known and proven components. Molson have delivered the machines with an extended three-year, 6000-hour warranty and service agreement. This shows their confidence in the product and far exceeds the warranties we get from other brands, giving us the confidence in both the machines and the after sales support from Molson.”
All six excavators have been supplied in full Sirius custom colour scheme completed at the Molson Avonmouth headquarters along with additional upgrades including heavy-duty belly guards and side impact protection, Miller hydraulic couplers and MST buckets. The SK350LC and three of the SK300LC excavators have also been fitted with heavy-duty screen guards to protect the cab from damage when undertaking demolition works.
Robin Powell, Molson Group joint Managing Director said, “We are very pleased to have secured this deal with The Sirius Group and look forward to continuing to work with them throughout the lifetime of these machines and beyond as we continue to grow our presence in the North East of England.”
