The 10th annual Caketastic Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support

October 11, 2023

Across the UK, Molson employees donned their pinnies to bake cakes and raise money for Macmillan Cancer in September. In a fantastic show of support, every single depot got involved, with team members either baking (or faking) cakes, biscuits or savoury snacks, or coming along to buy cake and tea and chat with their colleagues.

Led by the Community Champions at each branch, the day saw prizes given out for the best bakers and runners up, as well as the best fakers!

This year marked the 10th of the Molson Group Coffee Morning. It was originally organised by Lucy Hewlett, Group Fleet Manager, after she lost her mum to cancer and experienced the amazing care that Macmillan nurses give to those with cancer, and their families. She was inspired to do something to help – and ten years on, she is still organising the coffee morning and this year proved it is bigger and better than ever!

Lucy said: “I am always amazed by the how many people get involved, and this year was no exception! So many people’s lives have been affected by cancer, so it’s nice to all come together and do something that will really help the care that Macmillan give to families at this difficult time. I want to send out a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped to organise the event, all the bakers, fakers, eaters and donors.”
