Crawler Excavators

Excavators (also known as diggers or 360’s) are large, motorised machines equipped with a hydraulically controlled boom and dipper on which a bucket or other attachment can be fitted. Common materials managed by crawler excavators in construction work can be soil, snow, sand, rubble or rock types.

Crawler excavators are commonly used on construction sites for work such as digging holes, trenches and foundations. The machinery is also used for handling materials, moving earth and demolition. If a different attachment gets connected to the crawler excavator, the machine can be used for ripping, crushing, cutting, lifting and boring.

This type of machinery is also known as a tracked vehicle because each vehicle moves upon crawler tracks. This method of movement allows the machinery to travel in many working conditions, such as forestry work or demolition.
