Molson team tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks for mental health and wellbeing charity

On Sat 23^rd July, two Molson colleagues faced a demanding charity walk to raise money for mental health charity ‘We Are With You’ – an event which has smashed its fundraising target to contribute towards the provision of services which help people overcome mental health issues, alcohol abuse and drug addiction.

Emma Sheehan (Commercial & Service Administrator, Molson Finlay and Molson Washing), and her partner John Goodby (Parts & Warehouse Supervisor, Finlay Parts) joined a 17-strong group comprising our friends from Ardent Hire, as well as Boels UK and Raleigh International, to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

The British weather delivered glorious sunshine at the first peak, Pen-y-Ghent, which then transformed into torrential rain and thick fog by the second peak, Whernside. The team had to really dig deep to complete the 24 mile trek and after a near-vertical scramble up Ingleborough, regained their positive attitude and crossed the finish line over 12 hours since setting off; delighted and relieved.

Emma reflects “I’m really proud of our achievement, it’s not something that everyone does and, now I’ve recovered a bit, I’m delighted to have joined such a welcoming group of like-minded individuals within our sector, for this important and valuable charity.

Since becoming a Molson Community Champion last September, I’ve been able to contribute to lots of initiatives both large and small that make a positive impact in our local communities on things that really matter, from the environment and sustainability, to welfare at work, and partnering like this with other organisations and charities. It’s so fulfilling being part of this nationwide network of Champions in all Molson depots, as we can really make a difference”.
