Molson Open Day 23 hits the mark

July 28, 2023

June saw us host our second series of Open Days at our flagship service centre in Avonmouth.

Following on from the success of our initial Open Days back in 2021, we warmly welcomed back over 850 visitors to our expanded event and showed off an even greater range of products, innovations, and new technological advances over the three days.

Supported by our comprehensive range of our suppliers, we spent some long days turning our Avonmouth facility into a spectacular showground for earthmoving, material handling, recycling and compaction equipment, not to mention some of the finest street foods the area had to offer!

We were delighted to be able to show visitors some of the latest arrivals from our suppliers including the new Kobelco SK39SR-7 and SK34SR-7 in the popular 4 tonne class, two new arrivals from Sennebogen in the 822G material handler and 340G telehandler. One of the latest ranges added to our portfolio is the range of Husqvarna demolition robots of which we had all four showing off their abilities in their dedicated demonstration area.

For companies operating a mixed fleet of machinery, integrating telematics systems, and analysing the data generated can now be achieved on a single platform thanks to our launch of fleetCMD, a fleet management system capable of integrating information from a constantly growing list of manufacturer’s own telematics systems and combining it to produce easy to decipher information that is readily available on either desktop, tablet Android or iPhone system. The ability to manage your fleet entirely from the platform from booking services to ordering parts can be done via fleetCMD.

With safety on site becoming an increasing issue for machinery providers, we provided a sneak peak of our InVu 360° human detection camera system. This not only gives the operator one of the clearest camera views on the market, but it also utilises proprietary third-party software to identify operatives walking into the working range of the machine and prompts them and the driver to act.

Technology didn’t stop with operator and owner aides with a range of Hybrid, electric and battery powered machines on display in our Decarbonisation Zone. From more commonplace tethered electric drive machines to state-of-the-art untethered solutions, including a revolutionary removable battery pack solution from a newfound partnership with Dutch firm UMS. This comprehensive showcase perfectly articulates how we can now offer the widest range of low emission technology anywhere in the industry.

As a group, we support several charities in a variety of ways and took the chance to promote these at the event giving visitors the opportunity to buy custom painted American style hard hats, with visitors able to vote for which of the four charities the business works with across its depots that the proceeds are donated too. Taking water bottles from Frank Water for which the company will donate £20 for each bottle taken to allow for the provision of clean drinking water supplies to communities around the world that do not have access to safe drinking water.

We would like to thank all the customers who took the time to attend the event, but also a special thank you to our supply partners and dedicated team whose craft and graft made the event a success.
