To mark International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March, we’re sharing insights from two of our Molson employees who are based in the UK

International Women’s Day isn’t a new thing. Since 1911, it’s been shining the spotlight on the achievements of women throughout the world – while helping to drive equality at every level of society.

So while gender isn’t something we normally focus on at Molson, we thought we’d mark this important day by chatting to two of our amazing Molson women. And they’ve been telling us what’s important to them at work, for the future and in their home life.

Meet Lisa – Commercial Manager, Molson Finlay

Lisa joined us in 2019 after working in finance for many years – and feeling like the time was right to gain new experiences and seek a different challenge. She’s the main point of contact between the sales team and the factories, where she manages relationships, negotiates prices and ensures a smooth flow of stock. At the start, she was looking after just one brand, Terex Finlay, but this has now expanded to include all the Terex brands (Ecotec, Evoquip, CBI, TRS and more), as well as Sennebogen and other manufacturers.

Lisa told us, “What I love most about working at Molson is how we’re respected to get on and do our work with lots of flexibility – and I’m grateful that Molson make it easier for me to juggle my career and family. It’s a fair and equal place where everyone is allowed to thrive.

Since starting in 2019, I’ve never looked back, I’ve been given lots of opportunities to progress and develop my career alongside some fantastic colleagues. It’s a really supportive family-friendly environment and I’ve never felt like there are any barriers to getting on. You can’t ask for more than that.”

Meet Amber – Commercial Manager, Molson Equipment

An accountant by trade, Amber became tired of the repetitive month-end, so joined Molson to get more experience in a commercial environment. Now she manages the relationships with brand partners, negotiates on the purchase process, manages stock levels, supports the sales team and works with key stakeholders across the business to support the customer journey. And through the opportunities Molson has presented, she has grown from managing just three people to now managing two departments of ten.

Amber told us, “Since I joined Molson in 2021, I’ve grown the team and learnt so much – because no two days are the same here. It’s a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, with lots of opportunities for growth – and yet it still feels like one big family. I have my sights set on becoming a director one day – and that feels very achievable. I’ve expanded my role within the business, increasing the number of teams I am responsible for, as well as working on multiple key projects to enhance processes and support the sales force.

The difference here is you can be ambitious and still have a life outside of work. Molson has allowed me to progress in my career, without having to sacrifice my family life – we’re trusted to get our work done in a way that works for us. Molson is a great place to work, and I’m incredibly lucky to be surrounded by  amazing people who support my growth.”

At Molson, we take Diversity, Equity and Inclusion seriously. So it’s great to hear that our women really feel it every day when they come to work – because they certainly play a crucial part in helping us achieve our success.
