We are delighted that Molson Group Community Champions have achieved their latest goal – creating a network of food banks at all 13 depots nationwide. Having onsite collection points makes it easy for Molson employees to generously donate food and other essential items to be shared with those in need via selected local partners.

“It’s important to us that we make a positive impact on the communities where we operate, not just by creating employment opportunities but actively demonstrating that we care about people, too. Everyone is feeling the pinch right now, but if lots of people do lots of little things, we can really make a difference” says Helen Sloan, Molson Community Champion for the Warrington service centre.

The Community Champions firstly identified and then established relationships with charities who can distribute resources the length and breadth of the country, including ‘Black Isle Cares’ (Inverness), Staffordshire Women’s Refuge (Stone), Bristol North West Food Bank (Bristol), Warrington Food Bank and Darlington Baptist Church.

They will now continue to prompt and urge donations to maintain a regular flow of essentials, as well as marking key events such as Spring 2022’s Easter Egg Drive which built a collective total of 576 chocolatey treats for local children.

“Giving our staff the opportunity to contribute to charity events forms a key part of our ESG strategy”, notes Annalea Ormiston, Group HR Manager, “but it’s not paying lip service. As we’ve given our people the time and opportunity to do good things under the Molson umbrella, it’s increasingly clear how that pulls our teams together and makes everyone feel positive about coming to work every day”.
